Harbourmaster, Book One: Mine Would, Sir, Were I Human
Thalassa Partasah, Harbourmaster and unofficial head of Port Tethys, is an Aquaan - a member of a scientifically-advanced alien race peacefully coexisting with humans. When he dies of a rare genetic disorder, he leaves his human husband Nephos and Governor Tal Monteblanc to continue his work. But Partasah's death means his child Gilou is back from exile, and Gilou thinks the city should be hers, not Tal's. When Tal refuses to step down, Gilou falls back on Aquaan tactics: If she can't beat him, she'll join him.
Book One of Harbourmaster, covering the basics of the universe. ( In terms of meta, we're reaquainting ourselves with both drawing comics and sticking to our chosen limits. )
There is a timeline of events, if you want to see things laid out chronologically.
